    This qualification has been designed for learners who:

    Are 16+ years old.
    Are able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
    Hold an appropriate Level 3 Pilates matwork qualification.

    It is recommended that learners have at least six-months experience planning and delivering Pilates matwork sessions before taking this qualification.

    Overview

    By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to plan, deliver and evaluate Pilates reformer sessions and programmes, including:

    Pilates-based group reformer sessions (6+)
    One-to-one Pilates reformer sessions and programmes
    Instruct exercises from the advanced repertoire (where appropriate)

    The qualification is a technical specialism, which is designed to support existing Level 3 Pilates Matwork instructors or Level 2 Group exercise instructors (exercise to music) to expand their scope of practice.

    History and fundamentals of the Pilates Reformer
    Plan, deliver and evaluate Pilates-based reformer sessions (Groups)

    Pilates Studio Reformer (One-to-One)

    Plan, deliver and evaluate Pilates reformer sessions and programmes (One-to-One)

    The advanced reformer repertoire

    The advanced repertoire of exercises.
    The skills to evaluate own practice of exercises from the advanced repertoire.
    The skills to instruct and evaluate exercises from the advanced repertoire.

    To achieve the YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Studio Reformer: Groups, One-to-One and Advanced Repertoire (610/4343/6), learners must achieve four mandatory units across 3 groups. Assessments include:

    Presentation
    Personal practice and recording
    Exercise analysis worksheet and professional discussion
    Plan, deliver and evaluate a group Pilates-based studio reformer session (observed delivery)
    Bespoke client work project with professional discussion.
    Plan, deliver and evaluate a one-to-one Pilates studio reformer session (observed delivery)
    Instruct and evaluate advanced reformer repertoire exercises

    The YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Studio Reformer: Groups and One-to-One with Advanced Repertoire (610/4343/6) is a technical specialism, which is designed to support existing Level 3 Pilates Matwork instructors or Level 2 Group exercise instructors (exercise to music) to expand their scope of practice.
